Thankful for birthdays

Our little Thanksgiving baby is turning 3 tomorrow! Grandma Norma, Uncle Chris, and Tash all came out this weekend to visit and spend some time celebrating with us. It was great to show them our place and spend good family time together. To make things even better, we combined families and had a Thanksgiving/Josiah's birthday dinner at mom & dad Hansen's house. (Or as Josiah likes to call them these days, "Nan & Ger.") =) There was a big crowd, great food, presents, and a super sweet birthday cake, made for Josiah by his auntie Cheryl.

It was awesome to have so much family around- just the way I love holidays! Just the way I love life, actually. It was especially great to see and hear Josiah playing soccer on the deck with both of his uncles at the same time. =) It's hard to believe that 3 years ago tonight I went into labour and we headed off to the Regina General. Parts of it seem like ages ago and parts of it seem like last week.

I have a lot to give thanks for this weekend (and every day.) The amazing grace of God, my Savior. The love and companionship of my husband. The joy and privilege of raising my children. The care and support of my family and friends. The material comforts which I don't deserve. The beauty and freedom of this great country. The gift of good health. Too many things to count or list- I am so grateful.
