braving a few steps...

Well, on Wednesday Abby took her first couple of unassisted steps! Just 8 days before her 1st birthday. It was sooo exciting. She's been walking around holding on to things for quite a while and standing stationary for a couple of weeks, but finally had the courage to move those feet forward toward a drawer of pots that I had closed. She's been doing a couple of steps every day since, so I'm sure it won't take long before she's stringing a bunch together. I'm looking forward to that. Crawling gets her everywhere she needs to go, but it's tough in the summer. She's always getting so filthy outside and wearing holes in her pants or scratching up her chubby little knees. It will be awesome to see her walking around and enjoying all there is to discover in this big world.

Oh I am SO jealous!!! I know what you mean about dirty knees, and such. Grace stands for a few minutes unassisted, but has only done this for about a week. Well, good for your Abby! Tell her to give Grace a call and maybe a bit of a pep talk!
