Well, what's been happening around here? It's been a while since I've posted any updates. That's due in part to our rather last minute decision to head out to Calgary for a week. Dwayne had a crazy busy schedule with school, volleyball, parent-teacher interviews, etc, and it was looking like a couple of weeks of single parenting for Jen. It turned out my grandma was going to be in Calgary, so it was good timing for me to take the kids to my mom & Larry's for a visit. Abby got to meet her great grandma McGowan for the first time, so we took a great 4 generation shot.

There are always lots of special people for me to visit when I head "home." We got to have dinner with my brother and his girlfriend Tash. I got to see my good friend Char, most of her dear family, and her beautiful new home. We got a short but sweet visit in with some of my high school friends...we seem to be multiplying rapidly, as you can see from our "offspring" picture posted here. =) And I got to see my uncle, aunt, and cousin (minus a visit with dear Matt, who we'll catch next time) and their renovation-in-progress house. And of course, there was lots of great time to chill out with mom & Larry and grandma. It was so awesome to be away for a while and catch up with people. I think I would have had a hard time at home doing so much child tending on my own. It was still just as exhausting to be caring for them away from home, but at least it didn't feel lonely! =) However, as much fun as it is to go away, it was even better to come home. We are certainly a better functioning, happier bunch with husband/daddyo in the picture. I could tell especially that Josiah missed being away from Dwayne for so long, but probably not as much as I did...

It seems that I bring the snow to Calgary when I come, and sure enough, there was a big dump while we were out. Talk about a quick introduction to winter! I had to go out and buy Josiah the boots that I had anticipated buying "soon." It was especially awesome to play in the snow knowing that for the first time in my life, I'd be returning to warmer temperatures and none of the white stuff! =)

ps. just kidding about that last part, but i hope i don't have to clarify that
So crazy, hey, being with your friend's kids. You spend all this time with these people, going through the same grades and boyfriends and you feel like you have lived a lifetime with them, and then all of a sudden -you are married with kids. Where did the time go? What's next? Grandkids? When will it slow down? Will we always feel like high school and college were just a few years ago?
(Sorry, when I listen to music when I blog, I get a little more dramatic.) I love you all the same, though, and am glad you had a nice time. :) I still miss you. Wish you were here!
