We belong to this wonderful church down the street from us called Central Community Church. We love it there. There are often times when I stand or sit in the sanctuary and think about how blessed we are to live in a country where we can gather freely to worship God, but especially today, being Remembrance Day and all. There are 2 things, related to this topic that I can't imagine. I can't imagine what it would be like to have to go to war or send my spouse, sibling, or child to war. It's horrendous. But, I am so grateful that so many people who came before me stood up to fight against injustice and oppression with such bravery. Secondly, I can't imagine what it would be like to live in a country where my life, my livelihood, and/or my loved ones would be in jeopardy if I was caught attending a church service. Today I'm thankful for and humbled by the privilege and the responsibility of living in this free society.Sunday, November 11, 2007
Freedom to worship
